An outsourced machining job costs €180 and makes you wait a week. The same board, machined in your own workshop, costs €20 and comes out within the hour.
Two purchases not to be confused: a 2D preshape, wire-cut, costs around €60; a 3D preshape, machined, around €180. The WingXpert starts from a plain block and avoids both: all that is left is the cost of the foam.
Machining cost excluding material and consumables: the block is still yours to buy, and its price depends on the format you produce. Payback calculated on the machine price, excluding installation and training. And if you prefer to spread the cost, staged payment is possible for workshops based in France.

What shapers ask us
What is the difference with the ShapeXpert?
Two things. The ShapeXpert machines a blank that is already preformed, ordered from a blank manufacturer; the WingXpert starts from a raw plain block clamped on its table. And the WingXpert is a 3 axis machine dedicated to foil up to 2.50 m, where the ShapeXpert goes up to 4.50 m and is configured in 3, 4 or 5 axes.
How long for a board?
40 minutes, complete machining, turning it over included. The block is held by clamping angle brackets: no jig to set up, no gluing, and the same reference from one block to the next.
How is the block held during machining?
By clamping angle brackets, directly on the table. Nothing to glue, nothing to bury in the foam — and unlike a preformed blank, a plain block has flat faces for the angle brackets to bear on naturally.
Can it do anything other than foil?
Wing, surf and SUP within the 2.50 m limit. Beyond that, it is the ShapeXpert.
Do my Shape3D files go through without reworking?
Yes, in the latest versions of Shape3D and of AKU Shaper, as well as any G-code. Send us one of your files: we open it, we generate the toolpaths and we send you back the machining simulation, with the machine time. You check that your shape goes through without having to take our word for it.
How long before I can work on my own?
Training lasts 7 days, in your workshop, on your own blocks and your own models. It ends when you have produced a complete board without us.
And if the machine breaks down?
2 year warranty. For the first 6 months, support by phone and WhatsApp, with remote access to the machine.
